Advanced Memory Protection
Advanced Memory Protection provides additional memory protection beyond ECC (error checking
and correcting), including:
Servers supported Description Option
G7 servers: All Gen8 servers: All Provides the largest memory capacity
to the OS. Advanced ECC Support (default)
G7 servers: All Gen8 servers: All Enables the system to automatically
map out a group of memory that is Online Spare with Advanced ECC
Support
receiving excessive correctable
memory errors. This memory is
replaced by a spare group of memory.
G7 servers: Some models Gen8
servers: Not an available option Provides maximum protection against
uncorrectable memory errors that Mirrored Memory with Advanced ECC
Support
would otherwise result in system
failure.
