4 Basic Operations

Do a preliminary check before taking photos.
a. The photography ready lamp lights green.
b. The working distance dots appear sharpest.
c. The working distance dots are on the extension line of the WD guides.
d. The split lines form a single line.

• Green: Ready to shoot.
• Red: Preparing to shoot. Wait until the lamp lights green.
Flash intensity adjustment
The flash intensity is set in advance to the standard level.
Every time the flash intensity button is pressed the flash
intensity increases by 0.3 stop.
Appearance of flare
Even if the working distance dots are adjusted to be extremely clear, flare may appear around the
retinal image depending on the patient’s eye.

Press the shutter release button.
The image of the retina and the examination information appear on the Rics NM 2 screen.

Check the photographed image.
Check that the image is normal and there are no errors in the examination information.
To take images of the other eye, repeat beginning with step 1 of Alignment (see page 25).
If flare appears
See “7 Troubleshooting” (see page 40) and follow the procedure.
