VISUAL CUES
Visual cues are aids to help users learn faster. The
travelspeed,CTWD,arclength,andtravel/workangle
cuesindicatewhethertheuseriswithinthetolerances
setinthetoleranceseditor.Generally,thesecuesare
colorcodedaswellassymbolic.Whencuesarered,
theyindicatebeingoutoftolerance.Yellowcuesindi-
cate close to tolerance, but not optimal. Green cues
indicatebeingwithintoleranceandclosetooptimal.
The“Cheater” Lens magnifiestheimageasseenby
theuserinthehelmetandinthewelder’sview.The
user can toggle between Off, 1.25X, 1.5X, 1.75X, 2X
selecttheiroptionwiththeredselecticon.
Travel Speed turns on the travel speed visual cue.
This cue is located on the side of the VR
GMAW/FCAW Gun or VR SMAW (optional) device.

NOTE: Thegoalistokeepthearrowinthecenterof
thegraphwhichwillalsokeepitgreen.
TheCTWD (ContactTipToWorkDistance)cueisonly
available for VR GMAW and VR FCAW processes.
This cue uses color and position to indicate proper
CTWD.SeeFigureB.34.Thegoalistogetthetipof
thegreenarrowonthelineofthe“H”barandkeepthe
arrowcolorgreen.
The Travel/Work Angle cue can be used with the
SMAW (optional), GMAW or FCAW processes. See
FigureB.35.Thegoalofthiscueistocenterthecircle
inthecrosshairandkeepthecolorgreen.
TheAim cuecanbeusedwiththeVRSMAW(option-
al), VR GMAW or VR FCAW processes. See Figure
B.36. The goal of this cue is to position the VR
GMAW/FCAWGunorVR SMAW(optional)deviceso
theaimcueisathingreenline.Thisindicatedthatthe
weldisbeingmadeinthecorrectlocationorposition.
