WELDOMETER™
OVERVIEW
The Weldometer™ tracks virtual consumables, base
materialandgasusage.Thisinformationcanbeused
totrackmaterialsandcostsavingsincurredbytheuse
of virtual welding training. The Weldometer™ tracks
material usage and arc time over a “trip” (since last
reset)andovertheVRsystem’slifetime.SeeFigure
B.7.
Arc Time keeps track of the amount of time
(hours:min:seconds)studentshaveavirtualarcstruck
witheachprocess.
Base Metal tracks how many virtual coupons have
beenusedandtheircumulativeweight.Notethatplate
3/8” includes groove joints as well as T-joints, while
plate10GA.and1/4"includesbothT-jointsandprac-
ticeplates.
Gas trackshowmuchvirtualgashasbeenused.
Consumables tracks the cumulative weight of each
typeofvirtualconsumableused.Italsodisplayshow
manyvirtualSMAW(optional)electrodesareused.
At the bottom of the screen, the Simulated Welder
Time keeps track of how long the unit has been on
(timeinhours:minutes:seconds).
RESET TRIP
SelectingReset Trip zeroesoutallitemsinthetripcol-
umn. This allows an instructor to track VR material
savingsoveracertaintimeperiod.
SAVE TO FILE
IfaUSBmemorydeviceisinsertedintheunit,select-
ing “save to file” saves a file with all of the current
Weldometer™ information. Once the file has saved,
theusercantaketheUSBtoacomputerorprinterto
print,email,copy,storeorviewthefile.
