SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

SELECT SUITABLE LOCATION

Themachinewillnotoperateinharshenvironments.It
isimportantthatsimplepreventativemeasuresarefol-
lowed in order to assure long life and reliable opera-
tion.ThisproductisforINDOOR USEONLY.

•Dirt and dust that can be drawn into the machine

should be kept to a minimum. Failure to observe
theseprecautionscanresultinexcessiveoperating
temperaturesandnuisanceshutdown.

•Do not locate where monitor is exposed to direct

sunlight.

•Donotplaceequipmentnearradiantheatsources.

•Donotplaceinaconfinedspace.Allowaminimum

of3feetofclearancearoundmachineandstandat
alltimes.Adequateventilationisnecessary.

•The fused power switch on the rear panel is the

inputpowerdisconnectdevice.Donotpositionthe
equipmentsothatitisdifficulttooperatethefused
powerswitch.

•Route and protect power cable to minimize expo-

suretodamage.

•Single or Multi-Outlet surge protector (or Surge

Suppressor) is highly recommended to protect the
machine from voltage spikes going through the
inputline.

TECTION

ESD SENSITIVITY

This headset eyepiece device may be
sensitivetoelectrostaticdischargeof8kV
or higher. Observe static precautions

such as discharging the body by touching the metal
chassis of the grounded equipment prior to touching
theeyepiece.

RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE

Thissystemcontainsasensitivemagneticpositioning
sensor that can become disturbed in the presence of
conductedRFnoiseinthe8to11Mhzrangeonthe
ACpowerlineofthesystem,oronthegraycablelead-
ingtothePolhemussensor.Disturbancescanmani-
fest themselves in slight jarring of the virtual environ-
ment shown on the LCD display or via the headset
eyepiece.(continued)
