INTENDED USE
WARNING!
The device may only be used for the applications indicated in the
chapter “5 Application Conditions for the units”, and only in con-
nection with third-party devices or components recommended or
approved by Bürkert. Observe the instructions in this operating
manual, as well as the conditions of use and permissible data
specified in the chapter “5 Application Conditions for the units”.
The proper and safe function of the system depends on proper
transport, storage and installation, and on careful operation and
maintenance.
• This device is exclusively intended for use as a solenoid valve
for the media permitted according to the data sheet and for use
in Explosion Group IIC, Category 2G and Temperature Classes
T4, or T5 (refer to the information on the Ex-approval plate
).
• The electro-magnets (solenoids) for valve control are used to
actuate valves that control gaseous or fluid media. The electro-
magnets can be manufactured in various mechanical designs,
as flange-mounted or push-over versions, with a terminal box
or a single flying lead. The switch-off over-voltage limitation is
carried out by the integrated rectifier. A varistor is mounted in
parallel on the inlet side to protect the diodes against mains
voltage peaks.
• The class of protection used is Ex mb encapsulation for coils
with cable connections or the Ex e mb encapsulation for coils
with a terminal box.
• Any other utilisation, or a utilisation going beyond this use will
be regarded as improper. Bürkert will accept no liability for any
damage resulting from such use. The user must bear all the risk
alone.
For the temperature classes and the electrical data, see
“6 Technical Data”.
