On the next Download Center screen, click the SW HDMI LC Download link.

On the next screen that appears, enter the requested user information, then click the
Download button.
4.
Follow the instructions on the rest of the download screens to save the executable
firmware file to your computer. Note the folder to which you saved the file.
5.
In Windows Explorer or another file browser, locate the downloaded executable file,
and double-click it to open it.
6.
Follow the instructions on the Installation Wizard screens to install the new firmware
on your computer. A Release Notes file, giving information on what has changed in
the new firmware version, and a set of instructions for updating the firmware are also
loaded.
Loading the Firmware to the Switcher
To load a new version of firmware to the switcher using the Firmware Loader software,
connect your computer’s serial port to the first three pins of the switcher’s Remote/
Auto-SW serial port. See “
” in the “Installation” section for
information on connecting to the serial port.

If you have not already done so, download and install the Firmware Loader executable
installer file to your computer (see “
Downloading and Installing the Firmware
,” earlier in this section).
2.
If necessary, download the latest SW HDMI LC firmware version and install it on
your computer (see “
Downloading the SW HDMI LC Firmware
,” in the previous
section).
3.
Open the Firmware Loader via your desktop Start menu by making the following
selections:
Start > All Programs > Extron Electronics > Firmware Loader > Firmware
Loader
The Firmware Loader window opens with the Add Device window displayed in front
of it.

On the Add Device window, select the following from the drop-down menus (see the
illustration on the next page):

Device Name: your switcher model (SW2 HDMI LC or SW4 HDMI LC)

Connection Method: RS-232
z
z
Com Port: the name of the Com port to which your SW HDMI LC is connected
z
z
Baud Rate: 9600.
