Removing the Messenger from the switchgear compartment

WARNING! The 30-pin plug contains 120 Vac control power connections. Avoid physical
contact with the connector pins.
11. Disconnect the 30-pin plug by first depressing the side tabs and then pulling the plug out of
the Messenger.
12. Disconnect the configuration plug by first depressing the side tabs and then pulling the
plug out of the Messenger.
13. Note the relative positions of each Ethernet cable. Disconnect the two cables by first
depressing the tab at the top of the connector and then pulling the connector out of the
Messenger.
WARNING! The 12-pin plug can contain 18 Vac PT connections depending on system
configuration. Avoid physical contact with the connector pins.
14. Disconnect the 12-pin plug by first depressing the side tabs and then pulling the plug out of
the Messenger.
15. At the Messenger faceplate, record the Rating and Setting rotary switch positions. These
will be needed to set the replacement unit.
16. At the Messenger faceplate, remove the two round plastic caps to expose the mounting
screws.
17. Completely remove the two mounting screws.
18. Using both hands, carefully pull the Messenger out and away from the front of the
switchgear compartment so as not to disturb any wiring and then remove it from the
compartment.
