INSTALLATION
Mount the MagnaValve in a vertical position with an adequate supply of media above it.
Utilizing pipe unions will allow correct alignment of the valve. The MagnaValve is appropri-
ate for use in all three types of air blast machines (direct pressure, suction nozzle and gravi-
ty assisted suction nozzle).
For direct pressure applications a suitable mechanical grit valve or pinch-tube type of shut-
off is necessary to prevent the air pressure from forcing media through the magnetic field.
The mechanical valve can be located either above or below the MagnaValve.
For direct pressure applications of the MagnaValve, use supplemental mechanical valves to
isolate the MagnaValve from air pressure. The MagnaValve operates with a maximum 5-psi
air pressure differential from the top to the bottom of the valve. The valve has no moving
parts, but operates by using a magnetic field to restrict the flow of shot. It is not capable of
stopping air pressure. By implementing mechanical valves, (B) and (C) of the layout draw-
ing, the MagnaValve will work properly.
