2.5 Using the Emulator for the First Time
If you have purchased this emulation pod newly, it is necessary to download firmware. The download
procedure is given in Figure 2.3.
Before attempting to download firmware, check the emulator debugger is installed and the emulator
is connected to the host machine. For more information, see each user's manual of the emulator
debugger and the PC4701.

To make sure the emulation pod works properly, run the self-check. For self-check procedures, see
"4.4 Self-check" (page 42).

Shut power OFF.
Connect the PC4701 and this product.
Within 2 seconds of turning the power ON, press the
RESET button of the PC4701 and check maintenance
mode is accessed.
Download firmware using the emulator debugger.
