White or black line
• The toner cartridge or drum car-
tridge may be defective.
Remove the cartridges and
check them for damage. Replace
cartridges if necessary.
Toner smudges
• The toner may be unevenly distrib-
uted inside the toner cartridge.
Remove the toner cartridge and
rock it left and right a few times
to distribute remaining toner.
• The toner cartridge or drum car-
tridge may be defective.
Remove the cartridges and
check them for damage. Replace
cartridges if necessary.
• Smudges on the back of the paper
indicate a dirty transport roller.
