PROBLEM SOLUTION
I cannot playback (Super)
Video CDs b It is possible that this (Super) Video CD contains a menu and the 'PBC' is switched off. You
can see this in status field 'PBCOFF'. To activate this function, proceed as follows:
1 Press SYSTEM-MENU while the (Super) Video-CD is inserted.
2 Select ' A ' using D or C .
3 Select line ' s (Disc features)' using CH- B or ACH+ and confirm with C .
4 Select 'On' in line 'PBC' using CH- B or ACH+ .
5 Confirm with OK and end with SYSTEM-MENU .
Poor playback on DVD
Recorder (distorted
picture/distorted sound) b Your TV is not properly adjusted.
b The disc is dirty: Clean the disc.
b Sometimes the picture may be temporarily distorted. This is not a defect of your DVD
Recorder.
No recording possible. b The TV channel you want to record is not stored or you selected the wrong program
number: Check TV channels stored.
b Disc is write-protected (cannot be recorded on): Remove write-protection or change the disc.

b A finalized DVD+R has been inserted. Change disc.
Programmed recording
does not work: b You have set the wrong time or date: Check time/date.
b You have not set the TIMER properly: Check the programmed recordings (TIMER block).
b A locked disc was inserted: Remove disc lock.
b A finalized DVD+R has been inserted. Change disc.
b Cabelbox (if available) switched off: Switch it on
b IR-Blaster not connected: Connect the IR-Blaster andset up the GUIDE Plus+ ® system with
the cable box. (Chapter 'The GUIDE Plus+ ® system, section 'Setting up the GUIDE Plus+
®
system').
Missing or wrong TV
channels b Wrong cable connection selected
b Wrong channel line up selected.
'DEMO' appears if I press
the
GUIDE/TV button.
b The Demo Pin from the G-LINK jack on the backside of the DVD Recorder was not
removed.
1 Disconnect the DVD Recorder from the power outlet.
2 Remove the DEMO pin from the G-LINK jack on the backside of the DVD
Recorder
3 Re-connect the Recorder to the power supply.
The cable box do not
always react to the IR
Blaster b The Infrared (IR) Remote control signal interfere with the IR signal of the IR Blaster
Put the IR Blaster closer to the front of the cable box.
In the GUIDE Plus+ ®
' LISTINGS'screen, I see too
many or too less TV
Channels
b The number of TV channels depends on the setting in the GUIDE Plus+ ® sytem settings.
If you have a Cable Box installed (Cable Box 'YES'), then you should switch on the available
channels (Channels above 125).
b If you have no Cable Box installed (Cable Box 'NO'), then you should switch off the channels
which are not available.
