VGS-1 (OPTIONAL) OPERATION

When using the optional VGS-1 voice guide & storage unit, you gain access to the voice recorder and voice

announcement functions.

VOICE ANNOuNCEMENTS

When changing modes, frequencies, settings, etc., an audio

voice will announce the new information.

• Voice announcements are output from the PTT band side.

1 Enter Menu mode and access Menu 003.

2 Set the announcement function to MANUAL, AUTO, or

OFF.

• Refer to the tables below for announcements based on

settings.

MANUAL:

A microphone PF key must be programmed as

[VOICE] to

use MANUAL voice announcement.
