Selecting AF Area Mode

Press and hold the AF Area
Mode
button and rotate the
Main-Command dial to select
Single Area AF or Dynamic AF
mode.

Single Area AF mode and
Dynamic AF mode are
described on the following
pages.
When Single Area AF mode is
selected, you may designate the
focus area, and that choice remains
unchanged regardless of subject
movement. A
or appears in
the selected focus area of the Top
Status LCD panel.
The example at the left shows center
focus area selection.
You may alternately choose any one
of the five available focus areas. In
Single Area AF mode, the sensor
calculates the focused distance by
using the selected focus area
exclusively.
