The national prefix must be entered with the recipient’s
telephone number even for numbers in the local net-
work.
Example:
089 12345678 – national telephone number in the
fixed network
017X 1234567 – telephone number in the mobile te-
lephony network
0049 89 12345678 – telephone number with interna-
tional prefix

When sending an SMS, you do not need to enter your
sender telephone number. The SMS centre automati-
cally enters your telephone number as the sender ad-
dress.
Contact your service provider if you need answers to
the following questions:

What are the charges for sending and, where appli-
cable, receiving an SMS?
●
To which mobile telephone operators can I transmit
SMS messages and from which mobile telephone
operators can I receive SMS messages?

send SMS internationally!)

If you are called
while writing
an SMS the SMS
will be copied to the outgoing list. You can ac-
cept the incoming call and go on writing the SMS
afterwards.
During the transmission
of an SMS the following
message is displayed on all handsets: "SMS is
being transferred".
Text messages that could not be sent are copied
to the incoming list and are assigned an error
status (see page 57).
Settings and stored SMS messages are not lost
in the event of a power failure.
