Call a handset directly (call director or
redialling)
With the call director, an external caller can directly call
an internal number (see page 81). During this function
the answering machine must be activated.
After dialling your telephone number, the caller hears
the standard announcement or the direct inward dial-
ling announcement as recorded.
The caller then has five seconds in which to dial a hand-
set's internal number.
All handsets ring if the called party does not answer.
If there is still nobody to answer the call, the answering
machine (see page 70) will pick up the call.
Picking up a call
If the call director is active and if a call is not answered
on a certain handset, you can pick up the call on your
handset.

Accept Answer the call.

A typical direct inward dialling announce-
ment would be:
“Dial 1 for Mr. Miller, 2 for Mrs. Moore, 3 for
the secretary's office .
Press the star button if you don’t mind who
you talk to.“

The call is not answered by the answering ma-
chine if the advisory announcement is set.
