If more than one word shares the
same numeric sequence, T9 Word
provides the most commonly used
word, any additional words appear
in a scrollable pop-up list, in which
you can select a preferred word.
Note: To enter a space, press

enter a period, press

functions apply to both T9 Word and
Abc modes. For other symbols, see
“Entering Symbols” on page 54.
Using Abc Mode
1.
While composing a text message, do one of the following:
• Using the phone keypad, press the Entry Mode soft key, then
select Abc.
• Using the QWERTY keypad, press
.
• Using either Handwriting recognition screen, press
.

Enter letters while in Abc mode by using one of following:
• Using the phone keypad:

Press the key repeatedly until the desired letter appears in the display
(such as, press
once for “G” and twice for “H”).

Pause briefly and the displayed letter is accepted and inserted into your
message.

Press
to enter a space and press
to enter a period.
• Using the QWERTY keypad, press the key labeled with the desired
letter (such as, press
for “G” and
for “H”).
• Using either Handwriting recognition screen, use a stylus to print
the desired letters.
Entering Numbers
Enter numbers into a text message while in 123 mode.
