6. Position the replacement fan in the system so that the printed information on
the fan housing is facing out the rear panel. Also, position the fan so the fan
power cables are nearest the system board. Secure the fan to the rear panel
with the two screws removed in Step 5.
7. Connect the fan power cable to the system board.
8. Install the left side panel and the front door.
9. Connect the AC power cord and power up the system.
Replacing the Front Input Fan
1. Power off the system and ensure it is disconnected from the AC power
source.
2. Open and remove the front door as described earlier in this chapter.
3. Remove the left side panel as described earlier in this chapter.
4. Tag and disconnect the front input fan power connector from the system
board. See Figure 4-14, B for the location of the front input fan.
5. Remove the single screw securing the fan bracket to the mounting panel and
remove the fan and bracket from the system. See Figure 4-16, A.
