Before installing the platform bridge, it is important to exit all remote console sessions. Once the platform bridge
has been installed on the NNM server, install the HP Toptools for OpenView NNM platform bridge on each remote
console. The wizard on Windows NT/2000 will automatically detect whether the station is the NNM server or
remote console and install the appropriate files. For proper functioning of the NNM remote console, it is important
to install the platform bridge on the remote console before initiating a remote console session with an integrated
NNM server. If the platform bridge is not installed on each remote console, the following popup (e.g. in Windows
NT) will appear on the remote console display:
HP Toptools for OpenView NNM provides limited support of NNM 6.x web consoles without additional effort or
installation. From the web console, you will see customized icons for HP devices within the network presenter
(Figure 10-1), have access to compiled HP MIBs and can view HP events.
