1000BASE-SX/LX/ELX Network
The optional Mini‐GBICs on the 2S4082‐25 provide a Gigabit Ethernet connection to the
NAC Controller Engine to provide fiber‐optic connections operating at 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps). Other
Mini‐GBICs may support different types of cabling connections. The device at the other end of the
fiber‐optic connection must meet IEEE 802.3‐2002 Gigabit Ethernet requirements for the devices to
operate at Gigabit speed. Refer to
Appendix A for further details on Mini‐GBIC specifications.
