A hardware and software connection between two or more networks that permits
data traffic to be passed from one network to the other based on the intended
destinations of the data.
Used to describe a small, single-purpose network, confined to a very limited
physical area, such as a single industrial plant or mill and not connecting to any
device outside of the area.
The IEC-61131-3 defined Sequential Function Chart language used for
programmable controllers or a program control unit developed using Sequential
Function Chart language.
The Structured Text language specified by IEC 61131-3 used in programmable
controllers. It provides a structured programming environment similar to that of
the computer programming language PASCAL.
An entry on the Object Tree of Control Manager. It is a location where user-
defined variables are created and stored.
An entry on the Object Menu. It allows you to specify what programs to run and
when to run them.
Acronym for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. It is a
connection-oriented specification for the format and relative timing of
information exchanged between communicating devices. TCP opens and
maintains a connection between two communication hosts on a network.
An addressing method used to specify the Network ID, for general location of
the host, and the Host ID, which uniquely identifies an individual host after the
network is located. It further defines segments on the network. This information
is used to route information to its proper destination.
A feature that allows observation of a program as it runs. You can look at the
value of I/O points, global symbols, and run-time symbols (i.e. fault and scan
conditions). As the program runs, symbol values are displayed. You may set or
force symbols to certain values using this window to aid in debugging a
program.
