the IK 115 is set correctly and correct it if not.
Limiting the current consumption of the encoder
The IK 115 features an integral current monitor. The monitor
measures the current consumed by the connected encoder
and, if it is excessive, switches the power supply off. This
protects the electronic components of the IK 115 as well as
the PC power supply unit. The current limit is preset to 350
mA and thereby permits safe operation of the most common
HEIDENHAIN encoders.
HEIDENHAIN advises against deactivating the current monitor!
You can access the current monitor through [ View > Options ]
and by selecting the proper tab [current monitoring]. Here you
can deactivate the current monitor or set it to a desired value.
The maximum current that can be output by the IK 115 to the
encoder is 600 mA. Due to the component design, however,
the maximum current for current monitoring is 500 mA.
The value set for current consumption is saved and remains in
effect after the program is exited and restarted.
