A combo interface is a logical interface that comprises one fiber port and one copper port. The two
ports share one interface view and cannot work simultaneously. When you enable either port, the other
port is automatically disabled. You can activate either port as needed. The default operating port is the
copper port.
• If a port is brought down by the shutdown command, use the undo shutdown command to bring up the
interface.
• After an interface fails, if the gateway has an idle interface of the same type, you can plug the cable into
the idle interface.
