NOTE:
To install the database on a separate database server, follow these guidelines:
For SQL Server:
•
On the iMC BIMS server, install an SQL Server client with the same version as the database.
•
Create a data file folder on the database server, and input the IP address of the database server and the
path of the data file when deploying iMC BIMS. For example, if the IP address of the database server is
192.168.20.105, and the data file created in the root directory on disk D is imcdata, you need to input
D:\imcdata.
For Oracle:
•
On the iMC BIMS server, install an Oracle client with the same version as the database.
•
The Oracle client environment variable Oracle SID set on the iMC server must be the same as that set on
the database server.
Preparation for installation and deployment
For instructions of database installation, refer to related database documents.
Before installation, make sure that all the requirements listed in
are met.

Item Requirements
Hardware
Meets the specifications of CPU, memory, and hard disk in the
contract.
Software
Meets the software specifications in the contract, including the type
and version of the operating system, database version, and iMC
BIMS version.
The server is restarted after database installation.
Database installation
Before installing iMC BIMS, install the database first. During the
iMC installation procedure, the corresponding database
connectivity is checked.
SQL Server patch check
Service Pack 3 is required for SQL Server 2005.
Service Pack 1 is required for SQL Server 2008.
Auto startup of SQL Server service
Select Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and make
sure the Startup Type item of the MSSQLSERVER is set to Automatic.
Auto startup of SQL Server Agent service
Select Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and make
sure the Startup Type item of the MSSQLSERVER is set to Automatic.
Uninstallation of iMC BIMS software
A thorough uninstallation is required if the iMC BIMS software has
been installed in the system before.
Firewall settings
If you have deployed auto-configuration servers, open the service
listening port on the servers installed with the database. The default
port of the SQL Server database is 1433, and that of the Oracle
database is 1521.
