Software Upgrade in Conventional Methods
SecBlade cards provide the BootWare menu and a CLI, through either of which you can configure,
manage, and upgrade the cards.
NOTE:
The upgrade procedures of FW, AFD, AFC, ACG, IPS, SSL VPN, LB, NS and ADE cards are similar unless
otherwise specified in this chapter. This chapter illustrates the procedures for upgrading the software of an
LSB1FW2A0 on the S9500.
Preparations for Software Upgrade
Before upgrading the software in conventional methods, set up a configuration environment.
Installing a SecBlade card in the switch
Install a SecBlade card (LSB1FW2A0) in the S9500 in the way you install an LPU. For more information
about the installation, see H3C S9500 Series Routing Switches Installation Manual.
Connecting the console interface to a configuration terminal (usually a PC)
Plug the DB-9 connector of the console cable into the serial interface on the PC and the RJ-45 connector
into the console interface on the SecBlade card.
For the SecBlade card of the S5800 series switch, you need to connect the RJ-45 connector of the console
cable to the console port of the switch, and then execute the mcms connect slot 1 system subslot 3
command to redirect from the switch side to the SecBlade card.
