3.
Incorrect interpretation of the station number by the 9145.
4.
The C.O. may be masking (replacing) the ANI with a pilot number.
Determine the station number used for the call from the call record in the Event Log file. If
the station number is correct, lookup this station entry under the administration Station
Info tab and correct the E911 Calling # (ANI) field. If there is no entry under the Station Info
tab for the station number, then the E911 Calling Number (ANI): default number will be
used as the ANI sent to the 911 Call Taker.
If the station number is incorrect, check the calling party telephone number in the Event
Log to determine if the PBX sent the correct number. This number along with Station
Number Length under the Station Info tab is used to obtain the station number used in the
database translation of ANI. The 9145 uses the Station Number Length value to extract that
number of least significant digits from the calling party telephone number to determine the
station number. As an example:
If the 10-digit calling party number is 4253491124 as viewed in the call record and the
Station Number Length is set to 3, the station number will be interpreted as 124. If the
Station Number Length is set to 4, the station number will be interpreted as 1124 and so
on.
Determine and correct the cause for the inaccurate station number, and then place a test
call to verify that the problem has been corrected.
