Description
Monobond Etch & Prime is used to condition silica-based ceramic surfaces
for the adhesive bond with luting composites from the Variolink or Multilink
product lines, for example.
Monobond Etch & Prime etches and silanizes silicate ceramic surfaces in one
working step.

Composition
Alcoholic aqueous solution of ammonium polyfluoride, silane methacrylate,
phosphoric acid methacrylate and colourant.

Indication
– Conditioning of silica-based ceramic surfaces for the adhesive bond with

luting composites

Contraindication
– Any use not listed in the indication
– If a patient is known to be allergic to any of the ingredients of Monobond

Etch & Prime.

– Intraoral application

Side effects
Systemic side effects are not known to date. In rare cases, components of
Monobond Etch & Prime may lead to sensitization. The product should no
longer be used in such cases.

Interactions
The contamination of surfaces conditioned with Monobond Etch & Prime with
saliva and blood must be prevented.

Usage
Conditioning of pretreated and non-pretreated restorations
made of silicate ceramic
(e.g. IPS Empress

®

, IPS e.max

®

Press, IPS e.max CAD)

– Following the try-in, thoroughly rinse the restoration with water spray and

dry with water- and oil-free air.

– Apply Monobond Etch & Prime on the adhesive surface using a

microbrush and agitate it into the surface for 20 seconds. Allow to react
for another 40 seconds.

– Then thoroughly rinse off Monobond Etch & Prime with water and dry

the restoration with a strong jet of water- and oil-free air for approximately
10 seconds.

Seat the conditioned restoration using a luting composite (e.g. Variolink

®

Esthetic or Multilink

®

Automix) in accordance with the respective Instructions

for Use.

Additional notes
– To avoid any contamination, Monobond Etch & Prime must not be

removed directly from the bottle using a microbrush.

– Carefully close the Monobond Etch & Prime bottle immediately after use.

Warnings
– The product contains alcohols. Keep away from sources of ignition.
– Monobond Etch & Prime is corrosive. Avoid contact with the skin and

mucous membrane.
If the material should accidentally come in contact with the skin,
immediately wash with copious amounts of water.

– In rare cases, contact with the skin may lead to sensitization towards the

ingredients.

– Commercial medical gloves do not provide protection against the

sensitizing effect of methacrylates.

Storage
– Do not use Monobond Etch & Prime after the indicated date of expiration.
– Storage temperature 2–28°C (36–82°F)
– Shelf life: see expiry date on label

Zusammensetzung

Phosphorsäuremethacrylat und Farbstoff.

Indikation
– Vorbereitung von silikatischen Keramikoberflächen für den adhäsiven

Verbund mit Befestigungscompositen

Kontraindikation
– Anwendungen ausserhalb der Indikation.
– Bei erwiesener Allergie gegen Bestandteile von Monobond Etch & Prime.
– Intraorale Applikation.

Nebenwirkungen
Systemische Nebenwirkungen sind nicht bekannt. In seltenen Fällen können
Bestandteile von Monobond Etch & Prime zu einer Sensibilisierung führen.
In diesen Fällen ist auf die weitere Verwendung zu verzichten.

Wechselwirkungen
Eine Kontamination mit Monobond Etch & Prime behandelter Oberflächen
mit Speichel und Blut ist zu vermeiden.
