128KB ROM File

Standard PC structure allot 128KB only for the ROM files. The
128KB capacity will normally contain ROM files such as the system
ROM, onboard graphics (VGA) ROM, LAN ROM, PCI ROM, AHCI
ROM, RAID ROM, etc.

If an add-in card that comes with a ROM (such as PCI Express x16
graphics card or PCI/PCIE SCSI/RAID card) is added to the system,
the ROM will also occupy the 128KB capacity because the card's
ROM will be loaded and executed via the system ROM. Most often
than not, this will subsequently exceed the 128KB capacity.

During system bootup, the CPU will execute the BIOS and start
extracting the ROM files. If the content exceeded 128KB, the BIOS
will fail to extract all ROM files. Add-in devices will fail to startup and
onboard functions such as RAID will fail to work properly. Therefore,
if you are using onboard RAID function, we strongly recommend that
you select the onboard VGA instead of an add-in graphics card as
your display device.
