Using standalone mode
Standalone mode means the printer can operate without being connected to
a host computer. For example, a computer is used to store the print job on a
Compact Flash card (CF card). After this card is plugged into the card slot at
the printer, you can start the print jobs on demand with the printer control
panel or a keyboard connected to the printer. You can also enter variable
data with the control panel or the external keyboard.
Standalone mode can always be accessed from the “normal” printer
operation (with online/offline mode and message mode) by pressing the
Online and Esc buttons at the same time.
Imagine two consoles being accessed at the same time by pressing
Online+Esc.
