This user guide explains how to use the Stratix PowerPlay early power
estimator version 3.11, Stratix GX PowerPlay early power estimator
version 2.1, and Cyclone PowerPlay early power estimator version 2.1 to
estimate device power consumption.

■ Estimate your design’s power usage before creating the design,
during the design process, or after the design is complete
■ Import device resource information from the Quartus II software
into the PowerPlay early power estimator with the use of the
Quartus II-generated power estimation file
■ Perform preliminary thermal analysis of your design
