Parental Lock Levels

Parental Lock allows you to block viewing of DVDs that have ratings that
exceed your selections.To set the levels, follow the steps below.
• Before you begin, place the DVDA/CR in DVD mode.

Press the DVD/VCR. OUTPUT button so that the red DVD light

appears on the front of the DVD/VCR.

While playback is stopped, press the DVD button, then press
the SETUP button. The setup screen will appear.

Press the Number 4 button to select LOCK.

The SETUP/LOCK menu will appear.

Press the Number buttons to enter your 4-digit password.

• When doing this for the first time, enter any 4 digits.That number will

be the password until you change it.

Press the e./^ buttons to select the level you desire, then press

the ENTER button. For example, if you want to play Discs rated

PG 13, you must select LEVEL 5 or higher.

The SETUP/LOCK menu will reappear.The level you selected will appear
on the screen beside LEVEL.

RATING EXPLANATIONS

• NC'I? - Under 17 not admitted
• R - Restricted; under 17 requires

accompanying parent or aduit
guardian

• PG 13 - Unsuitable for children

under I3

• PG - Parental Guidance suggested
• G - General Audience

Press the RETURN button twice to remove the menu.

Helpful Hints

Some DVDs are not compatible with
Parental Lock. Make sure the DVD
plays according to the Parental Lock
settings you have made.

The DVD/VCR will not allow you to

change LEVEL settings until you enter
the correct password.

When you try to play a Disc that has

a rating that exceeds the level you set,
a message will appear on the screen,
indicating the Disc cannot be played If
this happens, press the OPEN/CLOSE
button to remove the Disc, then select
a level that allows playback. Or se/ect
NONE to turn off Parental Lock. Load
the Disc again and begin playback os
usual. Some Discs may allow you to

simply enter your 4-digit password,
then begin playback automatically.
Follow the instructions provided by the
Disc message.
