48 Hi-Fi Stereo Sound System

VCR

Multi-Channel Television Sound system broadcasts are automatically
recorded in Hi-Fi stereo sound. To play in Hi-Fi stereo the tapes
recorded in Hi-Fi stereo, however, you’ll need to follow steps 1-5.
• Before you begin, place the DVD/VCR in VCR mode. Press the

DVD/VCR OUTPUT button so that the green VCR light appears
on the front of the DVD/VCR. Press theVCR/TV button so that
theVCR/TV light appears on the front of the DVD/VCR.

Press the VCR button, then press the MENU button.

HIFI,
ON will appear to the right of HIFI on the screen.

Press the DISPLAY/STATUS/EXIT button.

Helpful Hints

Normally, HIFI should be selected
from the AUDIO OUT menu for
playback with Hi-Fi sound. But, you
can change the selection to MONO
if you want monaural audio play­
back-To do
this, follow steps 1-3.At
step 4, press the PLAY button or the

STOP button to select MONO. Press
the DISPIAY/STATUS/EXIT button.
HIFI will disappear from the status
display.

All programs are automatically

recorded in both Hi-Fi stereo sound

and in monaural sound.

The audio level of a tape recorded in

Hi-Fi stereo will differ from the

audio level of a tape not recorded in

Hi-Fi stereo.
If you play non-Hi-Fi tapes while the

DVD/VCR is set to HIFI, HIFI will dis­
appear from the status display and

the tape will play in monaural
sound.
