TROUBLESHOOTING
The problems described in this table are commonly encountered operational malfunctions. These types of difficulties
are usually caused by improper hook-up, accidental incorrect control settings, or operator
error due
to incomplete
programming, and are not caused by a circuit failure. Please review this table, and the appropriate section(s) of this
Instruction Manual, before assuming your transceiver is defective.

Nothing appears on the
display when the
transceiver is switched ON
(PWRA/OL control turned
clockwise), or the entire
display is blinking ON and
OFF.
1 Low supply voltage
2 If using optional DC cable:
a) Bad power cable or connections
b) Open power supply fuse
1 Recharge the battery pack or replace the
batteries.
2 a) Check power cable and connections,
then repair/replace as necessary.
b) Investigate the cause for the open
fuse. Replace the fuse.
No sound comes from the
speaker.
Noise squelch is closed since no stations
are on frequency.
None necessary. The speaker output is
muted automatically if no signals are being
received. Press [MONI] to override the
noise squelch and verify no stations are on
frequency {page 13}.
