Maintenance
DANGER!
Mains voltage!
– Maintenance work may only be performed by special-
ised personnel.
– Before beginning with maintenance work, unplug the
mains plug and protect the device against being unin-
tentionally switched back on.
– Put safety equipment back into operation after mainte-
nance work.
– Indicate maintenance work with warning signs.
We recommend keeping a safety logbook Ä Chapter 11
‘Safety logbook’ on page 52, where all work (maintenance,
repairs......) performed on the device is entered.
– The most important element of maintenance is regular
cleaning:
– When cleaning the complete device, adhere to the
guidelines of the Accident Prevention Regulation (BGV
A3) ‐ especially if the device has been set up in a dusty
environment or if the processed source material pro‐
duces dust.
8.1 Crushing plates
The crushing plates will get worn after a certain time, depending on the
material to be crushed. Check their surfaces at regular intervals. To turn
or change the plates, observe the instructions at Ä Chapter 5.2
‘Replacing the crushing plates (17, 21) and support walls (11)’
8.2 V-belt
It is normally not necessary to re-tension the V-belt. However, if you
detect that the belt is squeaking or the device's throughput rate is
reduced, re-tensioning or a replacement may be required.
Depending on the load placed on the device, the V-belt needs to be
checked for wear at regular intervals and replaced, if necessary.
