Requesting a document from
another fax (Polling reception)
Polling reception lets you dial a fax machine and automatically receive a fax loaded in
that machine. Your FAXPHONE and the fax you call must have the same polling ID in
order for this to work. You can then receive faxes from someone even if they are not in
their office to send them. (The other fax must have transmit polling capability and the
document must be placed in the document feeder or loaded in memory to be polled.)
Registering a polling ID________________
Polling IDs are eight-digit numbers consisting of only zeros and ones.
If the other party has a Canon fax and uses a polling ID other than 11111111. your
polling ID must match.
You cannot poll if the other party's ID is OOOOOOOO.
