■ Using the Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection (DRPD) feature

Use the DRPD feature if you subscribe to a DRP service offered by your telephone
company. The DRP service allows you to have two or more telephone numbers as
signed to a single telephone line. You can then use the DRPD feature on your
FAXPHONE to automatically receive faxes in response to one phone number and ring
in response to the other phone number by detecting the different ring pattern.
Receiving documents over a dedicated fax line
The FAXPHONE is set up at the factory for both fax transmission and telephone calls.
If you have a dedicated fax line, you need to set the FAXPHONE for dedicated rcceiv-
■ Setting up the FAXPHONE for dedicated receiving
When you set the FAXPHONE for dedicated receiving, the unit picks up each call and
automatically treats the call as a fax transmission.
The FAXPHONE cannot receive automatically if you are making copies, printing re
ports. or registering information. .See pg.73.
If you have a separate phone line for your FAXPHONE, follow these steps;
