A vertical band appears when a
subject such as lights or a
candle flame Is shot against a
dark background.
The contrast between the
subject and background is too
high; The camcorder is not
malfunctioning.
Change locations. —
The color of the playback
picture is not appropriate.
The AUTO LOCK cover was not
closed tightly.
Close the AUTO LOCK Cover.
Shooting conditions were not
suitable for auto white balance
operation.
Open the AUTO LOCK cover and
press WHITE BALANCE to
adjust the white balance
manually.

The playback picture is not
clear.
EDIT is set in the direction of
the arrow.
Set EDIT in the opposite
direction of the arrow.

The channel or input for the
camcorder is not selected on
the TV.
Select correctly. •
The picture is noisy.
The video heads may be
contaminated.
Clean the heads using the Sony
V8-2SCLH cleaning cassette.

Recording on another tape is
impossible.
The INfOUT selector is set to IN. Set to OUT.
Recording a TV program or
recording from another tape is

The IN/OUT selector is set to
