Trouble Check

If any difficulty should arise during operation, go through the following table. Should the difficulty

persist, disconnect the power source and contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service
facility.

The power does not turn on.

The battery is not attached.

Attach the battery.

The battery is dead.

Use a charged battry.

The AC power adaptor is not

connected a wall outlet.

Connect the adaptor to a wall

adaptor is set to CHARGE or

OFF.

Set CHARGEAn’R to VTR.

The power goes off.

While being operated In the

CAMERA mode, the camcorder

has been in the pause mode for

more than S minutes.

Turn STANDBY to LOCK at

once and turn it to STANDBY

again.

The battery is dead.

Use a charged battery.

The battery pack is quickly

discharged.

The ambient temperature is too

low.

The battery pack has not been

charged fully.

Charge the battery pack again.

The battery pack is completely

dead, and cannot be recharged.

Use another battery pack.

START/STOP does not operate.

The tape is stuck to the drum.

Remove the cassette with the

cassete eject button.

The tape has run out.

Rewind the tape or use a new

one.

POWER is set to VTR.

Set it to CAMERA.

The tab on the cassette is out

(red).

Use a new tape or slide the tab.

The cassette cannot be

removed from the compartment.

The battery is dead.

Use a charged battery or the

AC power adaptor.

ejection works.

Moisture condensation has

occurred.

Remove the cassette and leave

the camcorder at least an hour.

a tape transport button is

The viewfinder lens is not

adjusted.
