TIGHTENING THE MAIN STUDS
CAUTION
■ Clean the threaded portion of the block & bolts.
■ If the specific torque specs are not followed. The strain on the cylinder block will be different,
as a result, the original function of the bolt cannot be guaranteed. Always tighten the torque
specs as specified.
■ Due to the variation in the accuracy in the block threads, be sure to check each one and fix
with a tap if required.
① Apply grease to the threaded portion and the
seat surface of the nut prior to fastening.
② Apply the lock tight agent (at the block plug)
to the lower thread portion of the bolt.
③ Fix the upper threaded portion of the nut to
the bolt as a double nut setup.
④ Tighten using a torque wrench.
Torque: 2.5~3.0kgm (24.5~29.4N・m)
⑤ Remove the double nut.
CAUTION
Upper Side

CAUTION
Do NOT move the bolt when removing the nut.
If the bolt moves, you'll have to repeat the
process.
CRANK CAB LADDER INSTALLATION
CAUTION
■ The normal crank cap bolts aren't long enough & can't be used with the Crank Cap Ladders.
You'll have to use the Tomei main studs or other brands which are similar in length.
■ If you had only purchased the crank cap ladders, then use the TOMEI main studs or similar.
Then you can secure the tightening.
CAUTION
The positioning of the mounting should be
facing the oil pan, with the seat nut on the
counter boring side.
