Use the following steps to log in to or log off the C1000 Touch thermal cycler:

1. Touch the Log In button on the home screen and select a user.

2. Enter the password using the pop-up alphanumeric keypad, and then touch the OK

button.

NOTE: A password can contain a combination of letters and numbers.

NOTE: The alphanumeric keypad will not be displayed if the user account does not
have a password.

3. To log off the thermal cycler, touch the Log Out button on the home screen.

Tools Screen

The User menu provides a list of functions available to an operator that is either not logged in
or logged in as a user. These functions control the C1000 Touch thermal cycler as shown in
Figure 31.

The functions in the User menu offer the following options:

About — for viewing the current firmware versions and serial numbers

System Logs — for viewing:
System Messages Log — a list of messages that occurred during each run
System Usage Log — a list of all events that occurred during each run

Run Reports — viewing the run report for each time a protocol is run. Reports can
also be exported to a USB flash drive (for use when servicing the thermal cycler)

Gradient Calculator — for calculating a temperature gradient across a block

The Administrator menu provides a list of functions available to an operator that is logged in
as the administrator. There are two ways to log in as the administrator:

1. Touch the Log In button on the home screen. Select ADMIN. Enter the administrator

password if one has been set up.

2. Touch the Tools button on the home screen. Touch the Admin button. Enter the

administrator password if one has been set up.
