5.4. Command Line Diagnostics
The Communication Interface has a front-panel mounted RS232 serial diagnostic port to which the
Engineering Workstation or a lap-top PC can be connected. The diagnostic port also provides an
interface to the diagnostics and on-line monitoring facilities of the Trusted
TM
TMR Processor. This
facility is provided for the use of ICS Triplex personnel.
The command line diagnostic interface requires a TC-304-02 maintenance cable and a terminal
program such as Hyperterminal or Teraterm. The serial port settings default to 19200baud, 8 data bits,
1 stop bit and no parity. The module will reply to ‘Enter’ with its command line prompt ci:?.
5.4.1. Top-level commands
Top-level help is obtained by typing h, to either the communication interface or the processor.
Diagnostics Interface Commands:
t - List tasks registered with Diagnostics
v - List module configuration.
h - Display this help screen.
su - Establish super-user privilege.
. - Close established privilege/connection.
- If no arguments, establish connection.
ci:?
The module build data is shown on typing v.
FIRMWARE CONFIGURATION:

Password-protected super-user privileges (su) are required in the processor, primarily to connect to I/O
module command line interfaces and for some of the more invasive commands in the communications
interface. These commands are marked with (!).
5.4.2. Task commands
Operating system tasks (processes) which have command-line diagnostics report their presence on
typing t. This is the route to all further communications interface diagnostics. This top-level command
lists all tasks which respond to commands. Note that these tasks and their commands change with
firmware builds, and therefore there is no separate documentation of all task command interfaces.
