Initial Operation and Setup
This chapter provides information on:
• Operating recommendations
• Boot-up sequence
• System reset and power on/off buttons
• Universal Serial Bus (USB)
We recommend the following operating guidelines for the 6155
Computer:
• Avoid turning the system on and off frequently.
• Never turn the system off when the hard drive indicator light is
illuminated.
• Always use the proper power down procedures as required by your
operating system, such as the Shut Down command in Microsoft
Windows.
• Do not turn off the computer until a message appears telling you that
it is safe to do so.
• Do not operate the 6155 Computer with covers removed. An
electrical shock hazard exists. In addition, removing the covers will
disrupt air flow and may result in overheating. All covers are
required to maintain EMI shield.
Access to components inside the chassis is restricted to authorized and
properly trained personnel.
ATTENTION: After shutting the system off, do not
move the computer or turn it back on again until the hard
drive has come to a complete stop (takes about 30
seconds).
If you are using an external monitor, turn on the monitor
first.
ATTENTION: The DVD-ROM contains a laser system,
which is a source of low-level X-ray radiation. To ensure
proper use of this product, please read this instruction
manual carefully and retain for future reference. Should
the unit ever require maintenance, contact an authorized
service location.
Use of controls, adjustments or the performance of
procedures other than those specified may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.
To prevent direct exposure to laser beam, do not open the
enclosure.
