Installation:
1. With the vehicle on flat level ground, set the emergency brake, &
block the front & rear tires / wheels.
2. Align the new Skyjacker nerf bar with the front & rear fender wells &
support the nerf bar using jacks / jack stands.
3. Align the mounting brackets of the new Skyjacker nerf bar with the
frame rails of the vehicle.
4. Place the supplied 1/4” shims between the vehicle body & new
Skyjacker nerf bar to obtain the correct clearance between the body
& nerf bar. (See Photo # 1)
5. Clamp the new Skyjacker nerf bar in place & slightly drill the lower
mounting locations of the new Skyjacker nerf bar to create pilot
marks using a 5/16” drill bit.
Note: Only create pilot marks, do not
completely drill these mounting locations at this time.
6. Drill the previously pilot marked lower mounting locations of the new
Skyjacker nerf bar using a 1/4” drill bit.
Note: Be careful not to drill
through the floor of the vehicle. (See Photo # 2)
7. Once drilled, attach the new Skyjacker nerf bar to the frame rails of
the vehicle using the supplied 5/16" x 3/4" thread cutting bolts & a
1/2" socket. (See Photo # 3)
8. Slightly drill the upper mounting locations of the new Skyjacker nerf
bar to create pilot marks using a 5/16” drill bit.
Note: Only create pilot
marks,
do not completely drill these mounting locations at this time.
9. Drill the previously pilot marked upper mounting locations of the new
Skyjacker nerf bar using a 1/4” drill bit. (See Photo # 4)
10. Once drilled, finish attaching the new Skyjacker nerf bar to the
vehicle using the supplied 5/16" x 3/4" thread cutting bolts & a 1/2"
socket. (See Photo # 5)
11. Remove the jacks / jack stands.
12. Complete Steps # 2 thru # 11 for the
opposite side of the vehicle.
13. Unblock the front & rear tires / wheels
& release the emergency brake.
