Temperature control for servo motors
You must determine the actual winding temperature at a surface temperature > 140 °C:
ƒ Measuring method: 4-phase resistance measurement at motor power terminal
ƒ The resistance measurement must be performed as quickly as possible after
switching off and stopping the servo motor.
Procedure
1. Unplug power connector X10, with terminal box design disconnect power supply
between inverter and motor.
2. Measure the resistance between the following contacts or terminals:
– Connector X10:
Contacts 4↔5, 5↔6 and 6↔4
– Terminal box X11:
Terminals 1↔2, 2↔3 and 3↔1
3. The respective mean value from the three measurements corresponds to the
respective double phase resistance (star connection).
