14. Place one sheet so it covers the Teflon
cover of the cooling plate only, tucking
the edges down between the buffer tank
and the cooling plate. (Fig. J).
15. Next, prepare electrophoresis wicks from
two pieces of Whatman 3MM filter paper
cut to 20X28cm (8.25-8.5 X 11inches).
Fold the paper in half lengthwise and
use light pressure to crease with the
back of your hand (Fig. K).
16. Wet the wicks by placing them in a
shallow dish of buffer. Let excess buffer
drip off as you pick them up. Slap the
wicks against the side of the dish lightly
to remove additional buffer. (Fig. L)
