6.2 Error messages
Problem Cause Solution
Thermoblock not
recognized • Thermoblock is not compatible
with the device.
• The thermoblock is not
attached properly.

Use a compatible thermoblock.

Remove the thermoblock and
then reattach it.
• The interface between the
device and the thermoblock is
dirty.

Remove any dirt from the
underside of the thermoblock.

Remove any dirt from the top of
the device, especially from the
viewing window beside the
heating/cooling plate.
Error message
preceded by a
number code. • Various causes are possible. 1. Switch off device and wait
10 seconds.
2. Switch on device.
If the error message appears
again, contact your local
Eppendorf partner.
