Lower Controls
The lower controls (refer to Figure 7.2) are located on the
right side of the chassis. Only lift and lower functions can
be operated from the lower controls.

The following are located on the lower control panel:

Emergency stop button.
y
Control selector switch.
y
Ground operation switch.
y
Platform raise/lower switch.
Emergency Stop Button
The emergency stop is a two-position red push button.
y
Push the button inward to disconnect power to all
control circuits.
y
Pull the button outward to restore power.
Control Selector
Insert the key into the control selector switch.
y
Place the control selector switch in the down position
to operate aerial platform functions from the lower
controls. The upper controls will not operate while the
control selector is in the lower position.
y
Place the selector switch up in the upper control posi-
tion to operate the aerial platform functions from the
upper controls.
Ground Operation Switch
The ground operation switch prevents platform move-
ment if the platform raise or lower switch is accidentally
operated. This switch is spring returned to the off position.
Hold the ground operation switch upward continually to
operate the machine from the lower controls.

Danger
Pinch points may exist between moving components.
Death or serious injury will result from becoming
trapped between components, buildings, structures,
or other obstacles. Make sure all personnel stand
clear while operating the aerial platform.

Controls to position the platform are located on the
lower control panel on the chassis and on the upper
control panel in the platform.
y
Controls to drive the aerial platform are located on the
upper control panel only.
Control Selector Switch
The control selector switch is a multi function switch
located on the lower control panel. When the machine
is stowed the switch should be in off position with the
keyswitch at “0” or center position (refer to Figure 7.1).

The control selector switch removes electrical power
from all electrically controlled functions when in the “0”
or off position.
Place the switch in the desired position to operate any
electrically controlled function, see “Control Selector”.
Caution
Only authorized personnel should operate the aerial
platform. Unqualified personnel may cause injury
to coworkers or property damage. Lock the control
selector switch in the off position before leaving the
aerial platform unattended.
Turn the control selector switch to the off position and
remove the key to prevent unauthorized use of the aerial
platform.
