Appendix D Transferring DOS Images
to Mac OS–Based Portable Computers
If you use a Mac OS–based portable computer with a PCMCIA slot and have
an optional PC card adapter, you can transfer DOS images from your storage
card to your portable computer using Macintosh PC Exchange. You assign
Camera Access to the DOS
.JPG suffix so that DOS files with that suffix are
compatible with your Mac OS–based computer. You can store images on your
computer, and you can work with the image files using the Camera Access
software.
IMPORTANT Always transfer all images to your computer before working with
them. Do not work with images that remain on the storage card. After you
edit an image file on your hard drive, you can move it back to your camera
using the Upload function.
1 Open the PC Exchange control panel on your Mac OS–based portable computer.
2 In the PC Exchange dialog box that appears, click Add.
3 In the DOS Suffix box, type .JPG .
4 In the scrollable list, select Camera Access as the specified application program.
5 Select JPEG from the Document Type pop-up menu.
