II. Prepare to install kit
A. Remove stop light
1. Remove spare tire.
a. Refer to owner’s manual.
2. Disconnect stop light wire connectors.
a. Remove grommet from hole in tailgate.
b. Pull wire harness out of grommet or cut wires
and tape ends.
3. Remove stop light.
a. Remove bolts, 3rd stop light and spare tire
bracket.from Tailgate.
4. On JK model ,
B. Install kit bracket
1. Install Kit: Wire Grommet and LED Light onto
mounting Bracket using kit bolts.
2. Install Light mount Bracket to upper center tube of
Tire Carrier using kit: U-Bolt 1/4 x 1 1/4 and 1/4:
Nuts.
a. Adjust to visable height above SpareTire.
3. Wire the Kit: LED Light with Kit: 20 ga wire,Butt
connectors and Wire loom .
a. Lamp Red wire is (+) Stop and White is (-)
ground.
b. Use kit: wire white to Lamp red wire and Kit:
wire Black to Lamp white wire.
