1.1 Outline
The MAGNIA Software Access Point is a software product that facilitates the Toshiba Intel
Architecture server to work as a wireless LAN access point.
The basic functions of this product are as follows:
Communication between a wireless LAN network and wired LAN network
This function enables a wireless or wired LAN PC to be connected to the resources in a wired or
wireless LAN network via an access point.
Enhanced security by encryption (WEP)
Using the WEP function can enhance network security.
Access restraint of wireless LAN station
Station access can be restricted by registering the MAC address of each applicable station.
Access Point Configuration Utility (remote)
Access point setting can be performed from a remote PC connected to the MAGNIA Software
Access Point.
802.1X Function function from V2.0
In linkage with the RADIUS server, this function can restrict individual wireless LAN station from
accessing the network by way of authentication. Also, the WEP key can be changed periodically
and distributed to the stations. (WEP key distribution is disabled depending on the authentication
method used.)
